The switches can usually be equipped with a glow control lamp (pilot light shines when the light is switched on) or with an orientation light (switch lighting, which shines when the light is switched off).

According to the technical design, a distinction is made, for example, between rotational, rocker, tilting, push, and pull switches in the surface or flush-mounted design, also for cavity walls, door frames, and control panels. There are versions with screw covers and screwless covers, for rigid and flexible conductors. > Fig. 31

Special versions for different purposes include: push buttons for installation remote control, electronic switches, remote-controlled switches, switches in combination with dimmers, time switches, and so on.
